What is lift shifting?
Now that I’m a reborn racing enthusiast, there are probably going to be more and more car/racing posts.
With this said, a question that is often asked (especially in drag racing) is:
What is lift shifting?
Lift shifting is when you keep the accelerator down, and when its time to shift you briefly hit the clutch and go to next gear. This keeps the engine in the power band.
Note: This will shorten the life of your clutch, so I take no responsibility of any damage as a result of this post.
Why would you want to wear down your clutch just to keep in the power band?
Race car, that’s why!
